Ranveer Singh wows guests at Netra Mantena’s Udaipur wedding with high-energy performances, while old Ranbir Kapoor wedding remarks go viral.

Global superstars and A-list Bollywood stars have been drawn to the lavish Udaipur wedding of Netra Mantena, the daughter of US-based entrepreneur Raju Ramalinga Mantena, and Vamsi Gadiraju. Ranveer Singh, who brought his trademark enthusiasm to the festivities with an exciting stage presence that swiftly became the focus of the festivities, is one of those attracting the most attention.

Ranveer transformed the opulent hall into a dancing floor in addition to performing. He was accompanied by guests, including Donald Trump Jr. and his partner Bettina Anderson, when he started singing “What Jhumka?” from Karan Johar’s 2023 hit song Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. To the pleasure of the audience, the actor continued the pace with Simmba’s “Aankh Maarey” before stepping into rap and performing Gully Boy’s “Apna Time Aayega.”

An old Ranbir Kapoor interview surfaced and sparked a new round of online controversy as videos of Ranveer’s contagious performance and other Bollywood celebrities dancing at the wedding inundated social media over the weekend.

Ranbir Kapoor’s remarks regarding performing at weddings

Ranbir clarified in the 2011 interview  that he would never take payment to play at private weddings, calling the concept incompatible with his background. “I wouldn’t do it because of the family I come from,” he declared. That being stated, I have nothing against those who engage in it. However, those are not the ideals I was raised with. Ranbir, who hails from a prestigious cinema family that includes Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor, went on to explain why he personally stays away from such occasions, saying, “There’s nothing wrong.” But I’m not motivated by money. Earning billions and billions is not what I want. Acting is what I do. I have a different drive. I have diverse passions. I don’t want to seem foolish dancing at a wedding while people are standing there drinking and making crude remarks. None of my family members should do that, in my opinion. It’s an individual decision. I wouldn’t do that. “I wouldn’t lose stardom, but I wouldn’t allow my stardom to make myself think that if I’m a star, I can do anything and get away with it,” he said in response to a question concerning the effect on his celebrity status.

Interestingly, Ranbir was spotted dancing with Shah Rukh Khan and a number of other celebrities at Anant Ambani’s wedding celebrations in Mumbai last year, performing on songs like “Chaiyya Chaiyya” and “Tauba Tauba,” despite this old statement making a comeback.
