Kristin Cabot steps down as Astronomer’s Chief People Officer following viral Coldplay “kiss cam” moment with then-CEO Andy Byron.

Kristin Cabot, Chief People Officer at AI and data firm Astronomer, has officially resigned following a viral “kiss cam” incident during a Coldplay concert. The event placed her alongside then-CEO Andy Byron in an embrace on the stadium’s giant screen—a moment that went viral worldwide and fuelled intense speculation about their relationship.

This marks the second leadership exit in Astronomer in less than a week. Earlier, CEO Andy Byron resigned after the incident was deemed inconsistent with the company’s expectations for leadership conduct

Astronomer issued a statement emphasizing accountability and culture standards, stating:
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met”

Upon the resignations, co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy was named the interim CEO while the company launches its search for a permanent replacement. Neither Cabot nor Byron has publicly addressed the scandal.

Online analysts went crazy over the visuals from the show, recorded on 16 July at Gillette Stadium in Boston. At the moment, Chris Martin cracked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” fueling the media frenzy. The video is said to have crossed 100 million views on social media platforms, turning Astronomer into a household name overnight.
