Rumours have been swirling that actors Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating, with some reports claiming they plan to get married on Valentine’s Day, February 14. Mrunal, who is busy promoting her upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein with Siddhant Chaturvedi (set to release on February 20), has responded to these speculations.
Mrunal Denies Valentine’s Day Wedding
In an interview with Galatta Plus, Mrunal dismissed the viral claims, stating she had no idea where the rumours originated.
“No. I think 14th February is going to feel like 1st April… because I don’t know who started it. First of all, I was quoted, but I never said anything. They just wrote, ‘Mrunal said so.’ I was like, ‘Wow, how beautiful. It’s scary,’” she explained.
During the conversation, Siddhant Chaturvedi, sitting beside her, could be seen trying to stifle his laughter.
How the Rumours Began
The speculation began after Mrunal attended the wrap-up party for Dhanush’s film Tere Ishq Mein, where fans started linking the two romantically. Photos of Mrunal and Dhanush from the event went viral online.

Rumours intensified when Dhanush attended the premiere of Mrunal’s film Son of Sardaar 2, and the two were spotted hugging.
However, a source quoted by HT City confirmed the wedding news is purely speculative, adding:
“She has a release scheduled for February, and another Telugu film coming out in March. It doesn’t make sense for her to plan a wedding right in the middle of that.”
Upcoming Projects
Mrunal Thakur has several upcoming films, including Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Pooja Meri Jaan, and Dacoit: Love Story. Meanwhile, Dhanush will next appear in the Tamil film Kara and an untitled project directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.
