New Delhi: Even as Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, continues its phenomenal run at the global box office, a fresh controversy has emerged. The film, which reportedly crossed the ₹1,400 crore mark worldwide in just 13 days, is now facing allegations of script plagiarism, raising questions about its origins.

Filmmaker Alleges Script Was Copied

Filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS has claimed that Dhurandhar 2 is based on a script he wrote in 2023. Presenting registration details and supporting documents, Santosh has indicated his readiness to pursue legal action.

Speaking to the media, he said, “You all must have probably seen Dhurandhar 2. It is performing very well everywhere. After watching the film, I realised that it is my script and story. I had written it with a lot of hard work in 2023.”

Script Was Registered With Industry Body

Santosh further revealed that he had shared his script with major production houses, including Sony Pictures, Zee Studios, T-Series, and Dharma Productions, while trying to develop the project on a larger scale. Initially, his casting vision included Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.

Importantly, he stressed that his script had been officially registered with the Screenwriters Association in November 2023, strengthening his claims. “I am a member of the Screenwriters Association, and I registered my story there in November 2023,” he added.

Legal Action on the Cards

While acknowledging the success of Dhurandhar 2, Santosh clarified his intention to take legal action. “I am filing a case against this film because even though they have made a good film, my story has been wrongly used. I wrote this film for cinema and entertainment, but they turned it into political propaganda. This makes me feel hurt,” he said.

He further added, “What happened to me should not happen to anyone else, and that is why I will try my best to tell people about it.”

Santosh Kumar RS hails from Thirthahalli in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district. According to his IMDb profile, he has worked as a writer, director, and producer.
