A dermatologist from Bhopal has reported being cheated of of ₹10 lakh by a fraudster claiming to be an insider from television, offering him a “backdoor” entry into the reality show Bigg Boss.

In a shocking case of fraud, Dr. Abhineet Gupta, a well-known skin specialist and proprietor of Poison Skin Clinic in Bhopal, was tricked into paying Karan Singh ₹10 lakh, with Karan claiming to have direct connections with Bigg Boss makers. The supposed fraud started in 2022 with Singh posing as an event director and guaranteed an entry into the reality show’s Season 19. Dr. Gupta paid this in installments and never got his name added to the contestant list. Months of calls going unanswered and Singh assuring Dr. Gupta of getting a wild card entry into the show later in the season led to the doctor’s complaint.

Acting on the allegations, police have filed an FIR under Indian Penal Code Section 420 (cheating) at the Chunabhatti Police Station in Bhopal and another at Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai. Officials have confirmed that Karan Singh is on the run. Investigation is under the way for capturing him and knowing if other individuals may have been lured by great promises of filmy stardom.
