Mumbai : On Friday, September 19, 2025, Vodafone Idea stock rose more than 12 despite the markets being down. In contrast to its previous closing of Rs 7.85 on the BSE, the stock opened with a slight rise at Rs 7.89 on the BSE. But it continued to rise, reaching a high of Rs 8.82, up 12.35% from the previous closing. While the Sensex fell 387.73 points to close the session at 82,626.23, the stock closed the day higher at Rs 8.41, a gain of 7.13 percent. Likewise, the Nifty dropped 68.85 to end the day at 25,354.75.

Vodafone Idea stock has increased 7.58 percent over the past two days and has been rising steadily. Technically, the stock was above the moving averages for five, twenty, fifty, one hundred, and two days. On September 26, the Supreme Court will consider a case from telecom giant Vodafone Idea Ltd. asking for the increased adjusted gross revenue (AGR) requests for the 2016–17 period to be quashed.
After considering the arguments of Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who was representing the telecom company, and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was representing the Center, a bench consisting of Chief Justice BR Gavai, Justices K Vinod Chandran, and NV Anjaria scheduled the appeal for consideration for next Friday.
According to the police officer, the parties sought to find a solution because the situation had altered.
The CJI declared, “We will keep it on Friday.”
On September 8, the corporation filed a new appeal asking the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to “comprehensively re-assess and reconcile all AGR dues for the period up to FY 2016-17 following the ‘Deduction Verification Guidelines'” in a February 3, 2020, directive.
In a blow to telecom giants like Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel earlier this year, the Supreme Court declined to reconsider its 2021 ruling that denied their requests to correct purported errors in the computation of AGR dues owed by them.
