According to sources, the price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been raised by ₹60, while the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder price has increased by ₹115.

The latest LPG Cylinder Price revision is expected to affect millions of households that rely on cooking gas for daily needs, as well as hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that depend on LPG for their operations.

First Domestic LPG Price Change Since April 2025

Government Assures Adequate Energy Supply

Amid discussions around fuel supply and energy security, Hardeep Singh Puri, India’s Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, assured that there is no shortage of energy in the country.

He stated that the government is ensuring the availability of affordable and sustainable fuel for citizens and that consumers do not need to worry about supply disruptions.

Fuel Supply Situation in India

Meanwhile, Indian Oil Corporation clarified that reports about shortages of petrol and diesel circulating on social media are baseless. The company confirmed that India has sufficient fuel stocks and that supply networks across the country are functioning normally.

Government sources also said India remains in a comfortable position regarding crude oil and LPG supplies despite concerns over potential disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz.

India has diversified its crude oil imports in recent years, with a significant increase in supplies from Russia. In February, about 20% of India’s total crude imports came from Russia, amounting to nearly 1.04 million barrels per day.

Additionally, LPG imports from the United States have started arriving in India since January under a one-year contract signed by public sector oil companies to import around 2.2 MTPA of LPG from the US Gulf Coast during 2026.

Officials have also directed domestic refineries to increase LPG production to ensure adequate availability even after the latest LPG Cylinder Price increase.
