A major commercial LPG cylinder price hike has come into effect from May 1, bringing a sharp increase in costs for businesses across India. According to sources cited by ANI, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by ₹993. In Delhi, the new price of a 19 kg cylinder now stands at ₹3,071.50. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.
No Change in ATF, Petrol and Diesel Prices
As per a report , state-run oil companies have decided not to revise the prices of domestic aviation turbine fuel (ATF), despite rising international fuel prices. This move aims to protect airlines and consumers from global price volatility.
Alongside this, petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG cylinder prices have also been kept unchanged, ensuring stability for the majority of consumers despite the commercial LPG cylinder price hike.
What Indian Oil Said on the Price Revision
According to a statement issued by Indian Oil Corporation, there has been no revision in the prices of key fuels that directly impact the general public.
ATF prices are typically revised on the first day of every month based on input costs. While prices for domestic airlines remain unchanged, rates for international carriers have been increased.
Petrol and Diesel Prices Remain Stable
The company further stated that retail prices of petrol and diesel remain unchanged for consumers, who account for nearly 90 percent of total consumption.

Similarly, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders (14.2 kg) for nearly 33 crore consumers. Kerosene prices distributed under the Public Distribution System (PDS) also remain stable.
Overall, around 80 percent of petroleum products have seen no price change, helping maintain stability for most consumers despite the ongoing commercial LPG cylinder price hike.
Limited Impact of Price Increase
Oil companies clarified that the price revision is limited to select industrial and commercial segments, which account for a relatively small share of total consumption and are subject to regular monthly adjustments based on global benchmarks.
The commercial LPG cylinder price hike mainly impacts bulk and commercial LPG cylinders, which constitute less than 1 percent of total consumption.
Breakdown of Price Changes
The statement also noted that:
- Around 80% of petroleum products saw no change in prices
- About 4% witnessed a price reduction
- Nearly 16% — mainly industrial fuels — recorded a price increase, including the commercial LPG cylinder price hike
Additionally, prices of bulk diesel and ATF for international aviation operations have also been increased, though specific details were not disclosed.
The commercial LPG cylinder price hike marks a significant increase for businesses relying on commercial gas cylinders, even as relief continues for household consumers. While most fuel prices remain stable, the hike reflects ongoing adjustments in select sectors linked to global market trends.
