Police in Maharashtra’s Latur district have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) convenor Abhijeet Dipke. The legal action follows an unauthorized visit to a government-run Zilla Parishad Urdu school in Jawali near Ausa. Authorities booked Dipke alongside CJP worker Ajinkya Shinde and several other party activists. The complaint asserts that the group disrupted official educational duties, filmed inside classrooms, and threatened school staff.
The complaint was officially lodged by Sayyed Shamshadbano Khairatali, a 53-year-old teacher at the Zilla Parishad Urdu school. Police registered the case at the Ausa police station after investigating initial statements from school officials.

Specific Legal Charges Under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
Investigators have booked Dipke and his associates under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The legal charges detailed in the Abhijeet Dipke FIR focus on obstruction of official duty and alleged intimidation of public servants.
According to police officials, the key charges include:
- Section 132: Assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging official duty.
- Section 329(3): House trespass without prior authorization.
- Section 351(2): Criminal intimidation against the teaching staff.
- Section 356(2): Criminal defamation related to social media video posts.
The FIR outlines that Dipke and his team entered the premises without obtaining permission from local school administrators. Once inside, they sat with students during active class hours and raised questions regarding facility conditions. School authorities reported that this unexpected intervention caused significant disturbance to daily educational activities.
Social Media Video Posts and Defamation Allegations
The situation escalated when Dipke recorded video footage of the interactions with students. The CJP leader later posted these videos across various social media platforms. The complaint states that Dipke made defamatory claims about the ZP Urdu school in those videos. He alleged that administrators brought students from another school to artificially inflate attendance numbers during his inspection.
Furthermore, the complainant alleged that Dipke verbally threatened teachers with administrative suspension. Local education officials maintained that these unverified claims damaged the reputation of the public institution. Consequently, law enforcement authorities added criminal defamation charges to the primary trespass case.
Background of the ‘School Thik Karo’ Campaign
The visit to the Latur school was part of the CJP’s ongoing ‘School Thik Karo’ (Improve Government Schools) campaign. Launched on Independence Day, August 15, the program aims to highlight infrastructure deficiencies and push for policy reforms in government-run educational facilities across India. The movement began in Dipke’s native village in Hingoli district and expanded into various regions.
While the campaign has gained online traction for exposing school infrastructure issues, it has also encountered intense resistance. In Jaipur’s Rampura Kanwarpura area, a visiting CJP team was allegedly attacked during a school inspection. Additionally, the Mumbai civic education department issued formal directives barring CJP volunteers from entering municipal schools without explicit prior permission.
Latur police confirmed that investigations into the Jawali school incident remain ongoing as officers verify video records and take official witness statements.
