New Delhi: The Sanae Takaichi India Visit is set to begin on July 1 as Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi arrives in New Delhi for a three-day official visit. The visit marks her first trip to India since assuming office and includes the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, where both countries are expected to deepen cooperation in trade, technology, defence and regional security.
PM Modi and Sanae Takaichi to Hold High-Level Summit Talks
A major highlight of the Sanae Takaichi India Visit will be summit-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Takaichi. The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations, including economic cooperation, infrastructure development, investment, defence collaboration and people-to-people exchanges.
Several Memorandums of Cooperation (MoCs) are also expected to be exchanged during the summit, covering sectors such as artificial intelligence, battery technology, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and critical minerals.
Economic Partnership and Supply Chain Resilience in Focus
Strengthening economic ties will be a key priority during the Sanae Takaichi India Visit. Government officials and industry leaders from both countries are expected to participate in the Japan-India Joint Economic Forum to discuss investment opportunities, resilient supply chains and innovation-led growth.

The Sanae Takaichi India Visit is also expected to include discussions on maritime security, defence technology, regional connectivity and industrial value chains, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.
Green Energy, AI and New Agreements Expected
The summit is expected to produce significant outcomes in clean energy and emerging technologies. Both countries are likely to announce progress on a green ammonia project in Odisha, expand cooperation in the biogas sector and strengthen partnerships in artificial intelligence and energy resilience.
Around a dozen government-level agreements and nearly 120 private-sector partnerships are expected to be showcased, highlighting growing business collaboration between India and Japan.
