Surendranagar, Gujarat: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a major “Kisan Mahapanchayat” in Surendranagar district to raise concerns related to farmers’ issues, including installation of electricity lines without consent and rising costs of diesel, fertilizers, and seeds.
The announcement was shared by AAP leader Pravin Ram, highlighting that the event aims to mobilize farmers against policies affecting agricultural livelihoods.
Protest Against Electricity Line Installation Without Consent
The upcoming Kisan Mahapanchayat will focus on allegations that electricity transmission lines are being laid through farmers’ fields without their approval. AAP leaders claim this has caused damage to crops and created tension among farming communities.
The Kisan Mahapanchayat is expected to bring together farmers from multiple villages to demand fair compensation and proper consultation before such infrastructure projects are implemented.

Rising Cost of Farming Inputs
Another key issue to be raised at the Kisan Mahapanchayat is the increasing cost of essential agricultural inputs such as diesel, fertilizers, and seeds. Farmers have reportedly been struggling with higher production costs, impacting overall profitability.
Organizers of the Kisan Mahapanchayat say the event will highlight the urgent need for government intervention to stabilize input prices and support the agricultural sector.
