Highlighting the state government’s anti-drug campaign, the Punjab War Against Drugs has recorded significant progress over the past year, according to statistics shared by AAP Punjab on its official X (formerly Twitter) account. Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal presented the one-year report, outlining the action taken by law enforcement agencies against drug-related crimes across the state.

The figures reflect the government’s continued focus on curbing drug trafficking and strengthening enforcement measures.

Over 5,000 Cases Registered and 7,100 Arrests Made

As part of the Punjab War Against Drugs, authorities have registered 5,091 cases over the past year. During the same period, 7,105 accused persons have been arrested in connection with various drug-related offences.

The government stated that these actions demonstrate its commitment to taking strict legal action against those involved in the illegal drug trade and dismantling narcotics networks operating in the state.

Large Quantities of Narcotics Seized

  • 3,103 kg of heroin
  • More than 4 kg of smack
  • 831 kg of opium
  • Other illegal drugs seized during enforcement operations

Thse recoveries highlight the scale of the anti-drug operations carried out by police and enforcement agencies across Punjab.

Drug Money Worth ₹18.71 Crore Recovered

Another key achievement under the Punjab War Against Drugs is the recovery of drug money worth ₹18.71 crore. The seizure of proceeds linked to drug trafficking is aimed at weakening the financial networks that support illegal narcotics operations.

The government has maintained that targeting both drug suppliers and their financial assets remains an important part of its anti-drug strategy.
