Noida International Airport Jewar Set to Open on June 15, IndiGo to Operate First Flight

New Delhi: The long-awaited Noida International Airport Jewar is finally set to begin commercial operations on June 15, 2026, marking a major milestone in India’s aviation sector and offering a second international gateway for the Delhi-NCR region after IGI Airport.

The launch of Noida International Airport Jewar will begin with IndiGo operating the inaugural flight from Lucknow to Jewar, followed by a gradual expansion of domestic routes across major cities.

Noida International Airport Jewar to Begin With IndiGo Operations

The Noida International Airport will officially start with IndiGo’s first commercial flight, while Akasa Air and Air India Express are expected to join operations in later phases.

From June 16, additional flights from Noida International Airport to Bengaluru will begin, followed by connectivity to Navi Mumbai, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jodhpur and Bareilly starting July 2026.

Jewar to Offer Modern Travel Experience

The Noida International Airport has been developed as a next-generation aviation hub with advanced passenger facilities including self-check-in kiosks, DigiYatra biometric boarding, automated baggage systems and paperless travel processes.

Passengers at Noida International Airport Jewar will also have access to premium lounges, retail outlets, restaurants, and a dedicated food court designed for a seamless travel experience.

Jewar Airport to Transform Delhi-NCR Connectivity

Strategically located near Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi, the Noida International Airport Jewar is expected to significantly improve connectivity for millions of passengers across Uttar Pradesh and the NCR region.

The Noida International Airport will be linked through major expressways including the Yamuna Expressway and upcoming regional transport projects, reducing travel time and easing pressure on IGI Airport.

Expansion and Future Capacity

In its first phase, Noida International Airport will handle around 12 million passengers annually, with plans to expand capacity to 70 million passengers in future phases.

Built at an estimated cost of ₹11,200 crore, the Noida International Airport Jewar is also designed as a net-zero emissions airport, aligning with sustainable aviation goals.

With its modern infrastructure and strategic location, the Noida International Airport Jewar is set to become one of India’s most important aviation hubs, transforming regional and international air travel.
