The Haryana government is accelerating its healthcare transformation through the expansion of yoga and AYUSH services, aimed at building a stronger and healthier population. Chief Minister Nayab Saini stated that these efforts are a key part of the broader Haryana health initiative focused on preventive care and rural wellness.

Village gym expansion under Haryana health initiative

Under the ongoing Haryana health initiative, the state government is working to establish gymnasiums in 6,500 villages to promote fitness and active lifestyles. So far, 883 village gyms have already been completed, marking significant progress in rural health infrastructure development.

The Haryana health initiative aims to ensure that every village has access to basic fitness facilities, encouraging citizens to adopt healthier daily routines.

Strengthening AYUSH and yoga workforce

As part of the health initiative in Haryana , the government has appointed 859 AYUSH Yoga Assistants across the state. These trained professionals are helping promote yoga practices and spreading awareness about preventive healthcare at the grassroots level.

Their involvement is crucial for the successful implementation of the Haryana health initiative, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.

Upgradation of health facilities

Under the health initiative, 397 AYUSH pharmacies and 109 sub-health centres have been upgraded into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. These centres now provide integrated healthcare services combining AYUSH systems with modern medicine.

Focus on preventive healthcare and senior citizens

With large-scale infrastructure development, new appointments, and upgraded healthcare centres, the Haryana health initiative is transforming the state’s wellness ecosystem. The initiative reflects Haryana’s commitment to building a healthier future through yoga, AYUSH, and preventive healthcare systems.
