In a shocking development, Prateek Yadav, son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away at the age of 38 in Lucknow on Wednesday morning. He was brought dead to the Civil Hospital at around 6:15 am by family members after his health reportedly deteriorated suddenly.
Prateek Yadav, who was the husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav and half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav, had reportedly been battling serious lung-related complications for a long time.
Prateek Yadav Was Undergoing Treatment for Lung Issues
According to initial reports, Prateek Yadav had been receiving treatment for a blood clot in his lungs. Family members rushed him to the hospital after he reportedly stopped responding at home. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Police sources confirmed that no visible injury marks were found on the body. A panel of doctors at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) is expected to conduct the post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Who Was Prateek Yadav?
Born to Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife Sadhna Yadav, Prateek Yadav largely stayed away from active politics despite belonging to one of Uttar Pradesh’s most influential political families.
An MBA graduate from Leeds University in the UK, Prateek established himself as a successful real estate developer and fitness enthusiast. In 2012, he gained international attention after featuring on a globally recognized bodybuilding platform for his remarkable physical transformation.
He had credited his fitness journey to encouragement from his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Apart from business and fitness, Prateek Yadav was also known for supporting animal welfare initiatives and advocating for the care and protection of animals.
Lamborghini Controversy
In 2017, Prateek Yadav made headlines after purchasing a Lamborghini reportedly worth around Rs 5 crore. The luxury car purchase triggered political criticism, with opponents questioning how a member of a socialist political family could afford such an expensive vehicle.

Akhilesh Yadav is the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his first wife Malati Devi. After her death in 2003, Mulayam Singh Yadav married Sadhna Yadav.
Before marrying Mulayam Singh Yadav, Sadhna was married to Chandra Prakash Gupta, with whom she had Prateek Gupta, later known as Prateek Yadav. Following her divorce, she became part of the Yadav political family.
Marriage With Aparna Yadav
Prateek Yadav married Aparna Yadav in 2011 after reportedly being in a relationship for nearly eight years. Their marriage attracted attention due to the political prominence of the Yadav family and was attended by several high-profile leaders, businessmen, and celebrities.
