Haryana Pushes Kurukshetra Tourism Development Plan to Global Stage

Haryana government prepares master plan from Pipali to Jyotisar to boost spiritual tourism and develop Kurukshetra as a global religious destination.

The Haryana government is working on an ambitious plan to transform Kurukshetra into a major global tourism hub, strengthening its identity as the sacred land of the Gita. The initiative aims to attract visitors from across India and around the world by developing world-class tourism infrastructure and spiritual circuits.

As part of this vision, officials have prepared a detailed Kurukshetra tourism development plan focusing on the stretch from Pipali to Jyotisar. The proposed project is expected to enhance spiritual tourism, improve visitor facilities, and highlight the historical and cultural significance of the region.

Dr. Amit Kumar Agarwal, Commissioner and Secretary, Tourism Department, and Member Secretary of Kurukshetra Development Board, stated that a comprehensive master plan has been developed. He added that the Kurukshetra tourism development plan will soon be presented before Chief Minister Nayab Saini for approval.

Kurukshetra Tourism Development Plan to Build Seamless Spiritual Corridor with Modern Pilgrim Facilities

According to officials, the Kurukshetra tourism development plan aims to create a seamless spiritual corridor that connects key religious and historical sites. This includes improving infrastructure, enhancing pilgrim amenities, and developing modern facilities for tourists visiting the land associated with the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita.

The government envisions making Kurukshetra a global destination for spiritual and cultural tourism. The Kurukshetra tourism development plan is expected to boost local economy, generate employment opportunities, and promote Haryana’s rich heritage on an international platform.

Authorities believe that developing the Pipali to Jyotisar corridor will play a central role in the Kurukshetra tourism development plan, offering a unified and immersive experience for pilgrims and tourists alike. This stretch is being designed to reflect both historical significance and modern tourism standards.

Once approved, the Kurukshetra tourism development plan will mark a major milestone in Haryana’s tourism strategy, positioning Kurukshetra as a premier destination for spiritual seekers and cultural explorers from around the world.
