Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Sandhwan and Minister Gurmeet Khuddian inaugurate the State Food Commission library at MGSIPA.

In a historic move, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian jointly inaugurated the Punjab State Food Commission  library at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA) in Sector 26.

On the occasion, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, while appreciating the pioneering measure, stated that such libraries go a long way in strengthening constitutional institutions and providing appropriate guidance in matters pertaining to the welfare of the people.

In his remarks, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian expressed confidence that this library will be highly beneficial in safeguarding the welfare of farmers and individuals from low-income backgrounds.

The Chairman of the Commission, Bal Mukand Sharma, stated that the Punjab State Food Commission is the first in the country to formally establish such a library. This achievement would serve as an inspiration to the other states.

The Commission’s members, Vijay Dutt, Chetan Parkash Dhaliwal, and Jasvir Singh Sekhon, revealed that the library comprises extensive study materials on the National Food Security Act, Constitutional Provisions, Judicial Decisions, Agriculture, Nutrition, and Public Welfare Schemes. This action would improve the Commission’s operational efficiency. The Commission also planned the Path of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and Shabad Kirtan for the occasion. The Chairman and other Members extended their gratitude to everyone who attended the event.
