CM Bhagwant Mann visits Satauj, urging village unity, attending locals’ concerns, promoting PTMs, and highlighting youth employment in Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann traveled to Satauj, his hometown, where he spoke with locals and exchanged recollections.

While meeting with Panchayat representatives and other locals during his tour, the Chief Minister expressed his pride in his hometown. He said he had come to share and be a part of the people’s happiness and sadness, not to give a speech. According to Bhagwant Mann, spending time in his hometown brings him great joy, and he will always be grateful to the village for the love and care it has given him.

“Unity brings prosperity,” the Chief Minister stated, urging all villages to put aside factionalism and concentrate on development. “Villages must always maintain communal harmony and brotherhood for progress and growth.” He claimed that factionalism eventually impedes progress because some village leaders form factions for their own personal gain.

The Chief Minister encouraged parents to actively participate in and attend the Mega Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) scheduled for December 20 in all 19,000 government schools around the state while speaking with the media. He claimed that his administration was the first to use PTMs in public schools and that parents had reacted favorably to the move. He went on to say that this program would assist pupils get ready for obstacles in the future. By interacting directly with teachers, PTMs also assist parents in understanding their children’s interests and development, according to Bhagwant Mann.

The chief minister added that principals and instructors at government schools are receiving top-notch training in nations like Singapore and Finland in order to deliver high-quality instruction to pupils. He went on to say that instructors at IIM Ahmedabad are also receiving advanced coaching.

Speaking on youth employment, the Chief Minister stated that all eligible and capable young people in the state are now receiving government jobs free from nepotism and corruption. More than 58,000 kids have been given government work since March 2022, he said, and some families have two or even three employed members.

The Chief Minister accused the BJP-led Central Government of shifting 40% of the financing load on the states despite not releasing cash on schedule, calling the recent changes to the MGNREGA plan a step to ruin the poor and the states. He claimed that these modifications make it impossible for MGNREGA employees to carry out tasks like building schools, mandis, and drains, which is a blatant insult to villages. He claimed that by using such strategies, the Center hopes to completely shut down the program.
