Income Tax Department verifies Shilpa Shetty ’s hospitality businesses. She denies all allegations, calling them unfounded and fully cooperates with authorities.

The Income Tax Department is conducting searches at the home of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty in Mumbai as well as at businesses that Shetty and businessman Raj Kundra own and run in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai. The main focus of the action is Bastian Hospitality, which operates clubs under the Bastian brand in a number of locations, including Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, and Mumbai. Authorities are searching firm locations and promoters’ homes as part of their investigation into the operational and financial facets of the hotel industry, which started on Wednesday.

Pay Attention to Bastian Hospitality Operations

The operation and administration of prominent Bastian venues are being closely examined by officials, with a focus on Bastian Garden City, a hotel-related property that is the subject of an investigation. As part of the same investigation into the actress’s hospitality interests, searches were also carried out previously in Bengaluru.

Shetty Disavows Accusations

The most recent Income Tax action was filed a day after two pubs, including Bastian Garden City, were accused of operating after hours by Bengaluru police. Businessman Ranjit Bindra launched Bastian Hospitality, and in 2019, Shilpa Shetty purchased a 50% share. A petition contesting the matter is currently before the High Court, according to Shetty, who has refuted all accusations and called them unfounded. She requested the media to exercise patience, stating that the case is sub judice, and stated that she has completely cooperated with the investigation.

Speaking on behalf of his client Shilpa Shetty, attorney Prashant Patil made it clear that no income tax raid of any type had taken place at her location. He said that rather than being a search or raid, the encounter with Income Tax agents was a normal verification and follow-up procedure.

The advocate further cautioned against making false and deceptive representations in the public realm that connect these developments to a purported Economic Offences Wing (EOW) case. Individuals or organizations making such claims, he warned, would be subject to legal action before the relevant court.

Patil reiterated his client’s stance, stressing that there hasn’t been an Income Tax raid at Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s home and advising caution and accuracy when reporting the incident.
