Following an unforgettable evening in Hyderabad, during his second stop on the ‘GOAT India Tour 2025’, Argentina’s World Cup-winning legend Lionel Messi expressed his sincere gratitude to the supporters gathered at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

It was a memorable evening for the spectators assembled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, as they had the opportunity to witness Argentina’s FIFA World Cup champion, Lionel Messi, in action during the second stop of his ‘GOAT India Tour 2025′. Following the unfortunate disorder that erupted at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium, driven by supporters’ displeasure over VIPs and politicians purportedly monopolizing Messi’s time and attention during the visit, the 38-year-old’s trip to Hyderabad proved to be an enjoyable experience for all parties involved.

He participated in a 7-on-7 exhibition football match involving the state’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, amidst the enthusiastic support of an impassioned and vociferous audience, and also met the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

In a video shared on Sony LIV, one of the broadcasters of the event, Messi stated, “Greetings to all.” Certainly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the love and affection I have received today in this country. I express my gratitude to everyone for their participation, and I am delighted to be in Hyderabad with all of you.

Supporters were equally exhilarated as the renowned footballer. A dazzling laser light display greeted the fans and Messi, marking a memorable evening as the words “GOAT,” “Messi,” and his jersey number 10 were illuminated through these lights. The laser light display also illuminated Messi’s visage as the crowd applauded enthusiastically.

In a video shared by Congress’s official X account, Messi was observed kicking the ball into the audience, with the Chief Minister of Telangana also performing the same action.

Messi was also observed engaging with Rahul, signifying another significant intersection between Argentine football and Indian politics.

CM Revanth also extended a formal greeting to Messi, stating, “Messi, we welcome you to Telangana; Telangana is on the rise.”

The renowned footballer also presented Rahul with his iconic number 10 Argentina jersey as the Congress leader posed for a photograph with him and his Inter Miami companions, Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul. The football legend was also honored by the Chief Minister of Telangana with a memento.

During his visit to India, the Maharashtra Sports Department will select under-14 youth football players from across the state, providing them with the opportunity to train alongside Messi on Sunday.

Delhi will serve as Lionel Messi’s concluding destination for the ‘GOAT Tour 2025’ on Monday.
