Under CM Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana endorses Rationalization Commission report, adding 890 positions to strengthen Mines & Geology operations.
The Haryana Cabinet, convened under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini , endorsed the recommendations of the Rationalization Commission. The State Government established the Rationalization Commission, Haryana, to advise on the reorganization of positions across multiple government departments, including Mines and Geology, Haryana. The purpose of this Commission is to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of these government entities to public demands and future requirements.
After extensive deliberations, the Rationalization Commission submitted its report, wherein it recommended that, in addition to the extant 632 posts across various categories, a total of 848 posts would be necessary for the efficient functioning of the Department.
Thereafter, the Commission’s recommendation was reviewed by the Department in consultation with the Hon’ble Minister of Mines and Geology, who suggested certain modifications and proposed the addition of 42 posts to enhance the enforcement branch of the department.
Accordingly, a total of 890 posts across various categories were approved by the department for further review by the Competent Authority, accompanied by the following justification:
With this, the Department will possess a competent and sufficient personnel necessary for the efficient and environmentally sustainable management of mineral exploration and exploitation within the State. Migration and administration of the State Government’s primary digital platforms, including HMGIS, HEPC, Departmental Services, and other citizen service portals. There is a critical paucity of technically proficient personnel in the Department of Mines and Geology, which hampers the efficient and effective regulation of mineral activities as well as the implementation of development initiatives undertaken by the State and Central Governments.
The Council of Ministers, in its meeting conducted today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, approved the creation of 890 posts across various categories for the Mines and Geology Department, Haryana.
