CM Bhagwant Mann urged the Punjabi diaspora in Seoul to act as ambassadors and attract Korean investment, highlighting Punjab’s pro-industry policies and reforms.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann issued a strong plea to the Punjabi diaspora in Seoul to serve as state ambassadors in order to encourage Korean businesses to invest in the state, which has become the world’s most desirable place to do business.
The Chief Minister stated that investors are already rushing to invest in Punjab because of the state government’s industrial-friendly policies during an interactive community program with the thriving Punjabi diaspora in Seoul during his visit to South Korea. He added that Punjabis in Seoul should further assist the state in attracting investments by becoming its brand ambassadors. Punjabis are born entrepreneurs, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann, and we must all work to place the state on a high orbit of industrial prosperity. He stated that the state government is already creating favorable conditions for industry in the state and that it is now their time to serve their homeland, touching a deep chord with Punjabis.
According to the Chief Minister, this will create a Rangla Punjab and open up new job opportunities for young people in addition to significantly advancing the state’s industrial development. The fact that Punjabis are global citizens who have made a name for themselves everywhere in the globe is a source of great pleasure and satisfaction, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann, who added that the traits of diligence, inventiveness, and vigor are ingrained in their DNA.
The community’s entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to culture, and efforts to improve interpersonal and business-to-business connections were praised by the Chief Minister. Additionally, he called on the authorities to actively encourage Korean businesses to view Punjab as a desirable location for investment. Similarly, Bhagwant Singh Mann asked for their full cooperation and support in order to increase the state’s employment, innovation, and technology partnership opportunities.
According to the Chief Minister, his goal is straightforward: he wants to make Punjab a destination of choice for international industry by providing policy stability, quick decision-making, and a governance structure that values investors’ time and confidence. Punjab, he added, takes a partnership approach, working closely with industry to understand its needs and make sure the government becomes a growth catalyst. Bhagwant Singh Mann added that Punjab has improved its industrial capacity, fortified its infrastructure, and created new investment opportunities.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s regulatory and governance reforms, such as the changes to the Punjab Right to Business Act that allow for time-bound in-principle approvals, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers, and the FastTrack Punjab single-window system, which offers 173 services. He also emphasized Punjab’s industrial infrastructure, noting that Invest Punjab has already enabled more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore in on-ground investments. Bhagwant Singh Mann, meantime, stated that his goal is to make Punjab a top choice for international business by providing stability in policy, quick decision-making, and a governance structure that values investors’ time and trust.
According to the Chief Minister, Punjab’s strategy is built on collaboration and close industrial relations, recognizing their demands and making sure the government serves as a growth engine. Punjab has improved its industrial capacity, bolstered its infrastructure, and created new investment opportunities, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann. He stated that the state government is adamant that industrial progress can only be attained when we operate as equal partners, and that collaboration between the government and business is essential to success.
The diaspora, meantime, welcomed the delegation with open arms, sharing their pride in Punjab’s global reach and their ongoing attempts to spread Punjabi culture among Koreans through festivals, language, food, and customs.
The diaspora expressed hope that the visit will usher in a new era of South Korea-Punjab relations, opening the door to long-lasting collaborations and win-win outcomes in the areas of technology, industry, and cultural exchange.

Following a very successful trip to Japan, the Chief Minister earlier kicked off his South Korea Leg of International Investment Outreach. Gourangalal Das, India’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea, had a thorough briefing with Bhagwant Singh Mann. He presented the Punjab government’s plan to promote more technological and economic cooperation during the conference, especially in high-potential industries such manufacturing, food processing, agri-tech, renewable energy, defense, aerospace, and urban infrastructure. Additionally, Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized Punjab’s developing industrial ecosystem, progressive laws, and competitive advantages that establish the state as a key entry point to North India.
The Punjab delegation will start a full day of high-level discussions Monday by meeting with prominent Korean businesses, such as Daewoo E&C, GS E&C, and Nongshim, to discuss prospects in advanced food processing, infrastructure development, and construction engineering. In order to give Korean stakeholders a comprehensive grasp of Punjab’s governance reforms, transparency mechanisms, and investor facilitation framework, the Chief Minister will subsequently take part in a Roundtable on Ease of Doing Business in Punjab, which will be attended by prominent legal firms, financial investors, advisory groups, and business associations.
The team will then visit Pangyo Techno Valley, the leading innovation and technology cluster in South Korea, to learn about best practices in R&D, high-tech industry development, and start-up ecosystems. The day will end with a targeted meeting with the Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA) to discuss potential partnerships in aerospace technologies, defense manufacturing, and Punjab-appropriate future-ready industrial skills.
