Silver Price Today: Declines After Multi-Week Record High

by Desk

Silver Price Today ease after record highs on MCX amid profit-booking and US Fed rate speculation. Gold also dips slightly across markets.

Silver prices eased Tuesday after an incredible rise that had just a day earlier driven the metal to an all-time high, causing a significant lull in India’s bullion market.

Investors keeping an eye on the precious metals market are paying heed to the little decline ahead of next week’s pivotal US Federal Reserve meeting.

In 14,678 lots, silver futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) fell by Rs 3,253, or 1.79 percent, to Rs 1,78,777 a kilogram for delivery in March 2026.

A seven-day winning streak was ended by the correction, and on Monday, the white metal achieved an all-time high of Rs 1,82,998 per kg, which was a strong 4.6% one-session increase.

Tuesday’s decline is attributed by market observers to traders’ profit-booking following the unrelenting upward trend that had driven silver to all-time highs.

Futures for gold also eased. With 13,413 lots traded on the MCX, the February 2026 contract fell Rs 386, or 0.3%, to Rs 1,30,266 per 10 kilos.

The feeling was reflected in precious metals on a global scale. Comex saw a decline of $20.1 (0.47 percent) in gold futures for December delivery and a $1.4 (2.48 percent) decline in silver futures to $56.97 per ounce, both of which were down from Monday’s record $58.47 per ounce. The price of silver dropped $1.3 (2.2%) to $57.84 per ounce as early as March 2026.

Why Silver Prices Are Declining

After both gold and silver reached multi-week and lifetime highs, investors are locking in profits, according to Jigar Trivedi, Senior Research Analyst at Reliance Securities. A potential US interest rate cut next week is causing increased speculation, which is influencing market mood.

In his most recent public appearance, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell refrained from making any policy remarks, but traders are placing an 88% chance on a rate decrease of 25 basis points, bolstered by dismal economic data and dovish remarks from Fed officials.

The ninth consecutive month that the US manufacturing sector has shrunk has raised anticipation that the central bank will adopt a more accommodative monetary policy.
