Six Punjab cadets trained at MRSAFPI graduate from NDA, marking a major milestone and reinforcing the state’s strong defence legacy.
Punjab can take pleasure in the successful graduation of six cadets from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali), from the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune. Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Chief of Naval Staff, reviewed the Passing Out Parade. For the young cadets, the occasion marked a critical turning point as they prepare to start their careers in the Indian Armed Forces.
Gurkaran Singh (Mohali), Harmanveer Singh (Sri Muktsar Sahib), Arjun Singh Toor (Ludhiana), Rhythm Mahajan (Pathankot), Akshansh Aggarwal (Sri Fatehgarh Sahib), and Gurjyot Singh (Sangrur) are the six cadets who finished the demanding three-year training at NDA. It is anticipated that all six would be commissioned as officers within a year after enrolling in service training schools. Remarkably, these cadets trained at MRSAFPI during the difficult COVID-19 pandemic, exhibiting remarkable fortitude and commitment.
The cadets received sincere congratulations from Mr. Aman Arora, Punjab’s Minister of Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training. According to him, their accomplishment is a source of pride for the entire state as well as a personal milestone. He exhorted the young officers to put forth a lot of effort, stay dedicated, and use their military service to further elevate Punjab. The minister also commended MRSAFPI for its excellent work in continuously producing capable and disciplined applicants.
In addition to congratulating the cadets, MRSAFPI Director Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd.), stated that Punjab and the institute are extremely proud of their accomplishment. He said that fifteen additional cadets are awaiting call-up letters to enroll in courses starting in December 2025 at NDA and other defense training schools. In addition, 47 cadets are scheduled to appear for interviews with the Service Selection Board (SSB) shortly. He explained that these accomplishments were a result of the cadets’ diligence and the institute’s high caliber of instruction.
Additionally, Major General Chauhan declared that MRSAFPI will be accepting new applicants until December 15, 2025. He claimed that the achievements of AFPI cadets uphold the organization’s standing as one of the best training facilities in the nation and inculcate in Punjab’s young people a strong sense of duty, discipline, and dedication.
These six cadets’ accomplishments have further solidified MRSAFPI’s standing as a top organization that develops the next generation of Indian Armed Forces officers.
