After a ten-year break, Anbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are reportedly reuniting for a new Ayan Mukerji-directed movie. One of Bollywood’s most beloved on-screen duos, Ranbir and Deepika, last starred together in Tamasha (2015). Prior to it, they acted in the popular films Bachna Ae Haseeno and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which are highly regarded for their chemistry. The fact that this movie reunites the stars with filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, who previously produced hit films like Wake Up Sid and YJHD, has fans particularly thrilled.

The 1956 Raj Kapoor-Nargis classic Chori Chori is said to serve as a loose inspiration for the film, according to an article in India Today. Ranbir is reportedly restarting the RK Films label with this movie, therefore it will also be a meaningful endeavor for him. The relationship between a fugitive heiress and a sardonic reporter was the focus of the first Chori Chori. The planned movie will recast the story’s central theme in a current, contemporary context with updated characters and a new plot rather than a direct remake.
