Punjab releases Rs 213 crore first installment under Rangla Punjab Scheme, funding Panchayats, Zila Parishads, and local development projects across the state.

The first installment of the Rs 585 crore budget allotted under the “Rangla Punjab Scheme” has been disbursed for development throughout the state, according to a statement made on Thursday by Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.

At a news conference held at Punjab Bhawan, Cheema stated that the ‘Rangla Punjab Scheme’ was implemented in this year’s budget under the direction of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, with a particular allocation of Rs 5 crore for development projects in each Assembly constituency.

The Finance Minister reported that committees made up of officials and MLAs were established to guarantee the appropriate use of the monies. He continued, “The first installment of Rs 213 crore has been released to various Panchayats based on the proposals submitted by these committees.”

The Finance Minister emphasized that these committees will consistently suggest development projects under the “Rangla Punjab Scheme,” and the necessary funding will be made available in accordance with their recommendations. The Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was also thanked by the Finance Minister for starting the “Rangla Punjab Scheme.”

According to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, development funds totaling Rs 334 crore were recently made available to Panchayats, Zila Parishads, and Panchayat Samitis. He emphasized that extensive efforts are currently underway for the state’s overall development, spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s visionary approach. No hamlet, town, or city will be left behind in this endeavor, he confirmed, as the development of communities and cities is ongoing.

The Finance Minister added that Punjab is building more than 3,000 stadiums so that young people can use them to travel to the Olympics. To improve the road network, an additional 19,000 kilometers of roads are being constructed. “The AAP government has been fulfilling its guarantees since day one,” the Finance Minister said, drawing a comparison between this approach and past governments that usually started development only in their last year.
