SSOC Fazilka busts cross-border weapon smuggling, arrests two, and recovers hand grenades, 9MM Glock, and unregistered motorcycle in Punjab.

“State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) Fazilka busted a cross-border weapon smuggling module with the arrest of two individuals and recovered two hand grenades and one 9MM Glock pistol along with two live cartridges from their possession,” said DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Tuesday in an intelligence-led operation during the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as directed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The people that were arrested are Prabhjot Singh, also known as Prabh, who lives in the hamlet of Chak Bazida in Fazilka, and Vikram Singh, who lives in the village of Chak Balochan Wala in Fazilka. In addition to recovering a Glock pistol and hand grenades, police teams seized their unregistered black Hero Deluxe motorcycle.

According to the DGP, initial research has shown that the firearms were shipped from Pakistan and used for prearranged criminal activity in Punjab. According to him, more research is being done to determine forward and backward links in this instance.

AIG SSOC Fazilka Gursewak Singh Brar provided operational details, stating that the SSOC squad, acting on a tip, carried out a covert operation in the Jalalabad region and captured the accused from Village Chak Maujdin Wala as they were about to transport the shipment to another party.According to the AIG, more investigation is being conducted to determine who was meant to receive the shipment. In the days ahead, there will probably be more arrests and recoveries, he continued.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 18 dated 24.11.2025 has been filed at Police Station SSOC Fazilka under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act and section 25 of the Arms Act.
