On 269th day of “Yudh Nashian Virudh,” Punjab Police arrest 81 smugglers and seize narcotics and cash across 309 raids statewide.

In keeping with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign to eradicate the drug problem from the state for the 269th day in a row, Punjab Police conducted raids at 309 locations on Tuesday, which resulted in the arrest of 81 drug smugglers after 75 first information reports (FIRs) were registered throughout the state. As a result, 38,010 narcotics smugglers had been apprehended in 269 days.

During the raids, 1.5 kilogram of heroin, 1 kg of ganja, 585 intoxicant pills, and Rs 5.52 lakhs in drug money were found in the custody of drug smugglers who had been detained.

309 raids have been carried out around the state by more than 100 police teams, which consist of more than 900 police officers, overseen by 58 gazetted officers. Over the course of the daylong operation, police teams have also inspected up to 326 questionable individuals.

In an effort to eradicate drugs from the state, the state government has implemented a three-pronged strategy: Enforcement, Drug Abuse, and Prevention (EDP). Today, the Punjab Police, as part of their “De-addiction” campaign, persuaded forty-three individuals to receive rehabilitation and de-addiction treatment.
