CM Bhagwant Mann announces a world-class university at Anandpur Sahib to honour Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom, promoting his teachings globally.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced plans to establish a world-class university at Sri Anandpur Sahib named after Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, after a suggestion made by AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal.
Speaking to the crowd at Gurdwara Buddha Dal Chauni on the 350th anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s martyrdom, the chief minister declared that the university will be a suitable homage to him. According to him, the institution would serve as a driving force behind in-depth studies of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s life, ideology, and ultimate sacrifice. In addition to preserving the life and teachings of the great Guru sahib ji, Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that this will serve to inspire the next generation.
The Chief Minister claimed that because Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji gave his life to protect human rights in the nation, he was the perfect example of socialism and secularism. In addition to maintaining human and secular ideals, Bhagwant Singh Mann exhorted people to adopt the spirit of self-sacrifice as taught and performed by “Hind Di Chaadar,” Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, who gave his life to protect the freedom of religion. According to him, the teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Bani, which is found in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, emphasize universal brotherhood, humanity’s unity, righteousness, bravery, and compassion—all of which everyone should adhere to.

According to the Chief Minister, Guru Ji’s ultimate sacrifice as a religious guardian was unmatched in human history and serves as a notable example for all people. He stated that everyone should never forget the ultimate sacrifice given by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji in defense of the principles of truth, righteousness, and religious freedom. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government’s world-class university will be essential to spreading over the entire globe.
According to the Chief Minister, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur’s life and philosophy serve as a beacon for all of humanity. He added that the proposed university will contribute to both maintaining this illustrious legacy and strengthening interpersonal bonds. He claimed that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s sacrifice was unparalleled and that it barely exists anywhere else in the world. The tyranny that the previous rulers unleashed was unprecedented, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann. However, Guru Sahib never submitted to such tactics and gave his life in defense of religious freedom, which has no precedent in the world.
The Chief Minister thanked Sant Samaj for helping the state government complete this admirable assignment and added that the state administration carried out its mandate with a missionary zeal. He claimed that because the state legislature was taken to the feet of Guru Sahib, the state administration unexpectedly and unprecedentedly held a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha here at this hallowed location. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the assembly unanimously resolved to grant holy city status to places that had all three of the Takhts: Sri Anandpur Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, and Amritsar Walled City.
Sri Akal Takht Sahib (Amritsar), Sri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda), and Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib (Sri Anandpur Sahib) are three of the five Sikh Takhts, according to the Chief Minister. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government has designated these locations as holy cities of Punjab in response to the long-standing demand of the populace and to make this session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly unforgettable in history. To satisfy the long-standing demand of the devotees, he declared that the sale and consumption of meat, alcohol, tobacco, and other intoxicants would be outlawed in these cities.
The Chief Minister declared that there is no lack of money or resources for this admirable endeavor and that every effort will be made to build these cities holistically. Additionally, he established a free public transportation system for devotees traveling to these places to pay their respects, including minibuses and e-rickshaws. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that as there was no shortage of funding for this purpose, every attempt will be made to further accelerate the construction of these cities.
The Chief Minister, meantime, announced that the state government has planned a number of events throughout the state to honor their 350th martyrdom day in a modest homage to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur sahib ji. He claimed that because Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s sacrifice was given to defend other people’s religions, it was extraordinary and highest. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib set an example for the world by making the ultimate sacrifice to defend humankind’s religious rights.
The Chief Minister urged the populace to adhere to Guru Sahib’s teachings on the path of righteousness in the genuine human tradition. “The life and philosophy of Guru Sahib continue to serve as a beacon of light for all humanity,” he said, adding that the ninth Sikh Guru was a true symbol of secularism, unity, and international fraternity. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that in order to commemorate the martyrdom day, these events will continue in the future and be hosted throughout the state in the years to come.
According to the Chief Minister, the only goal is to ensure that our future generations carry on the great Guru Sahib’s wonderful heritage. In order to make it easier for the pilgrims who visit the holy city each year to take part in Hola Mohalla, Bhagwant Singh Mann has revealed plans to upgrade and refurbish the current Charan Ganga stadium there. He said that the state government is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of all societal segments and that significant efforts are already being made in this direction.
The AAP National Convener stated in his speech that he and his spouse had been at this place for the past three days as a sign of their love to this heavenly paradise. Gurdwara Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Gurdwara Sishganj Sahib, and Gurdwara Bhaura Sahib are three places where Arvind Kejriwal said he was lucky to have paid respects. He claimed that being here and taking part in the celebration of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s 350th martyrdom day was a singular experience. According to Arvind Kejriwal, the state administration has made complex preparations to make it easier for pilgrims to get to this sacred city and pay their respects.
The AAP National Convener, however, stated that the state administration will ask the people and the great Guru sahib for forgiveness if there had been any shortcomings in this Sewa. According to Arvind Kejriwal, there won’t be any type of intercommunal conflict in the world if people follow Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s teachings. He claimed that the teachings of the Guru Sahib on humanism, love, and compassion may lead to world peace.
According to the AAP National Convener, the state government’s adherence to the great Gurus’ path has made all the arrangements feasible. He claimed that by following the route of integrity, the state administration had used every single pound wisely for the welfare of its citizens. According to Arvind Kejriwal, the state government is providing citizens with high-quality health and education facilities.
According to the AAP National Convener, 90% of residents in the state receive free electricity, and farmers even in the most remote areas of the state receive canal water. He claimed that the state administration is grateful for the chance to serve the people of the state and host these celebrations in honor of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s 350th martyrdom day. According to Arvind Kejriwal, the whole Sikh history is one of Chardi Kala (ever-rising spirit), which motivates people to serve others (Vand Chakna), work honorably (Kirat Karni), meditate on God’s name (Naam Japna), and stand up for the vulnerable and downtrodden.
The great Gurus continue to inspire Punjabis to fight against oppression, injustice, and tyranny by providing them with both spiritual and physical power, according to the AAP’s National Convener.
