Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha calls for massive sapling plantation to honor Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s 350th martyrdom and boost green cover.

In honor of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s 350th martyrdom day, Punjab Chief Secretary Mr. KAP Sinha urged the state’s citizens to plant as many saplings as possible on Thursday.

In the holy city’s Panj Pyara Park, the Chief Secretary planted a sapling, stating that it was even more crucial for the state’s sustainable growth and protecting the environment for future generations. As a major threat to the environment and public health, he said, the declining green cover and rising AQI should worry everyone. In this case, Mr. KAP Sinha stated that it was everyone’s obligation to step up and plant an increasing number of trees to give the state “green lungs.”

The Chief Secretary stated that everyone should volunteer to plant an increasing number of saplings with missionary zeal during the period when the state government was planning multiple events to commemorate Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s 350th martyrdom day. He described this as a social cause and stated that the state administration, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, was entirely committed to increasing the state’s green cover. The state government has been providing this service to the people for a long time, but it cannot be completed without the help of the public, according to Mr. KAP Sinha, who stated that planting more trees is urgently needed to maintain our environment.

For the benefit of future generations, the Chief Secretary urged everyone to plant and maintain at least one sapling in support of this admirable cause. As a fitting homage to the great Guru Sahiban, he also urged social groups and non-governmental organizations to take up the cause of increasing the state’s green cover. According to Mr. KAP Sinha, reducing environmental pollution in the state is crucial to making it green, clean, and pollution-free.
