Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ‘s objective is to make the state’s health system more innovative, efficient, and inclusive while also lowering costs and ensuring universal access to care by encouraging the use of AI (artificial intelligence). The state’s AI-based digital health program, led by Chief Minister Yogi, is working to bring medical services from metropolitan to isolated rural areas. Telemedicine and e-Sanjavini, two AI-powered health services, have also significantly decreased health spending. Using artificial intelligence (AI) and cutting-edge digital technology, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the state with the most advanced programs, including the National Health Authority (NHA) and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The NHA 2025 report states that over 70% of rural patients receive these consultations and benefit from early diagnostic and medication advice provided by AI consultancy.

Over 4,000 healthcare professionals received AI and digital health training in 2024–2025 as part of the National Rural Health Mission. The top state in Uttar Pradesh for Ayushman Bharat health account IDs

Additionally, Uttar Pradesh has done admirably in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The state, where Uttar Pradesh is one of the top states in the nation, has created around 12.45 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account IDs. These IDs serve as the basis for AI-based risk assessment, real-time health recordings, and personalized recommendations, according to the ABDM 2024 report. Because AHBA is a digital platform that is interconnected, it gives doctors immediate access while protecting patient data. Additionally, the AI-based patient case study facilitates health advice for patients.

Over 500 crore health-tech start-up proposals are expected at the Global Investors Summit in 2023.

In terms of innovation, the state government did everything it could to support health-tech startups. Over Rs 500 crore in investment offers have been made to more than 50 health-tech start-ups at the Global Investors Summit 2023. Invest UP claims that these startups are creating AI-based models for medical consultation and testing. Innovative smartphone applications that employ machine learning for mental health monitoring or cancer screening are being created. More than one lakh people have used the AI-powered pregnancy tracker that was introduced by Lucknow-based startup HealthAI Solutions. This ecosystem is fostering local solutions to health issues in addition to economic prosperity.

Connecting AI technology to the Uttar Pradesh Health Department’s core infrastructure is also improving its efficacy and utility. It has resulted in the state’s first technology upgrades of over 12,000 health and wellness facilities.
