Sirsa tops Haryana in the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan as over 98,000 people take the anti-drug pledge, marking a major step toward a drug-free district.

Sirsa district has achieved the top spot in the state for implementing the anti-drug pledge throughout Haryana under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’.

According to an official spokeswoman providing information in this respect, 10,145 people in the Sirsa district took the anti-drug pledge online by scanning the QR code, while 88,200 people did so offline. In addition, about 62,000 young people, 25,000 women, and 1,200 policemen and staff took an active part in these events. The district is proud of Sirsa’s accomplishment of becoming the state’s top city thanks to their combined efforts.

All of the district’s departments, particularly the teams from Education, Police, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Health, Panchayats, and Sports, have put in a lot of effort, according to the spokesperson. The public’s cooperation and the combined efforts of all departments have allowed the district to consistently excel in this initiative. The district government pledged to intensify these initiatives and establish Sirsa as a model drug-free district.

As the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ celebrated its fifth anniversary, the spokesperson added, pledge ceremonies were held for staff members in each district office and the Mini Secretariat’s auditorium. Since its inception five years ago, the campaign has made impressive strides in raising public awareness. To raise awareness of the negative impacts of drugs, the federal government and state governments have been interacting with all facets of society through workshops, marches, public gatherings, and online initiatives.

According to the spokesman, schools, colleges, panchayats, and other social organizations have supported ongoing awareness campaigns in the Sirsa district. Positive results were achieved throughout the district as a consequence of special efforts made to reach out to women, youth, and the general public with the anti-drug message.
