AAP protests after officials clear MLA Mukesh Ahlawat’s office, alleging BJP’s political targeting and violation of notice rules amid an ongoing eviction dispute.

AAP protests : Following reports that Sultanpuri MLA Mukesh Ahlawat’s official office was being cleared by government officials, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) protested . The BJP-led administration is attempting to impede its public work, the party claimed, with political motivations.

In Sultanpuri, hundreds of AAP workers gathered outside the MLA’s office in response to a call from Saurabh Bharadwaj, the party’s Delhi State President. “AAP stands firmly with its elected representatives,” Bharadwaj said, adding that the BJP administration is deliberately conspiring to target AAP MLAs.

The MLA’s office has an eviction notice at the heart of the conflict. According to Mukesh Ahlawat, he officially received his post on June 25, 2025, for a period of five years. He claimed that on November 13, he received an eviction notice that had been sent on November 7.

The action’s timing was disputed by Ahlawat, who claimed that a mandatory 15-day notice period was necessary. He contended that, depending on when he received the notice or when it was issued, the deadline would be November 22 or November 28, respectively. In addition, he stated that he filed a case on November 14 and that the hearing was set for November 20. He also asked why the administration showed up the day before the court date.

The MLA noted that there are 38 empty rooms in two other government buildings in his area and accused the government of selective targeting. In an area where a sizable portion of the population comes from impoverished and Dalit communities, he implied that the eviction was an attempt to stop public projects.

Ahlawat also accused the AAP of biased funding distribution, saying that although monies are provided to BJP MLAs, proposals from AAP MLAs are blocked. He claimed that there is a crisis in healthcare services since work on 24 hospitals that were authorized during the previous Kejriwal administration has been halted.
