CM Yogi Adityanath inspects UP SSF II Vahini construction in Gorakhpur, urges accelerated work, modern infrastructure, and early completion before 2026 monsoon.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Gorakhpur to observe the building of the second corps of the Uttar Pradesh Special Protection Force (UP SSF). The Chief Minister instructed the Public Works Department officers to speed the work while maintaining quality during the inspection. He claimed that rain after June has an impact on construction activities. Thus, demand that the target period be finished four months prior to October 2026.

While conducting a terrestrial inspection of the SSF II Vahini’s construction, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath first toured the model before moving on to the building site. He asked the Public Works Department officers about the Vahini’s varied dimensions, arrangements, capacity, workforce, and physical advancement throughout this time.

According to officials, it has a 1,000-person capacity and has made 10% physical progress in building thus far. There are five hundred workers. Other projects, aside from the biggest multi-story structure, will be finished by October 31, 2026, according to officials.

According to the Chief Minister, the work ought to be accelerated. Rainfall begins after June, which will make it more difficult to meet the goal by October 2026. CM Yogi directed that work should be accelerated by increasing the usage of machines. Efforts should be made to construct the essential infrastructure, including barracks and administrative buildings, by June 2026 rather than October 2026.

CM instructs DM to address the soil issue.

The Chief Minister questioned the executives of the working institution about the issues encountered during the inspection of the UP SSF II Vahini construction project. According to officials, the low terrain makes it difficult to obtain soil for stuffing.

In response, CM Yogi summoned DM Deepak Meena and gave him instructions to dredge the nearby river and drain in order to supply soil as soon as possible. Additionally, he gave the executive body instructions to monitor the maximum flood level prior to the final soil filling.

CM orders the construction of a pumping station.

The district magistrate was also instructed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to address the local waterlogging problem. At the Maniram embankment, he requested that the DM construct a pumping station next to the regulator.

The Chief Minister, Pipraich MLA Mahendrapal Singh, Gorakhpur Rural MLA Vipin Singh, Sahajanwa MLA Pradeep Shukla, administration, police, and senior officials of the operating institution were present during the inspection.

The second SSF battalion is being built on 50 hectares for Rs 343 crore.

At a cost of around Rs 343 crore, residential and non-residential structures are being built on 50.157 hectares in Tal Zahda for the second battalion of the SSF, which was established in Gorakhpur. The Yogi government has approved the construction of non-residential structures worth Rs 156 crore 39 lakh 89 thousand and residential constructions worth Rs 186 crore 33 lakh 43 thousand. The Public Works Department’s Construction Block (Bhavan) is in charge of the construction project.

The SSF building will be modern and high-tech.

Modern amenities and cutting-edge technology will be installed in the UP SSF II Vahini building at Tal Zahda. On its grounds, multi-story buildings of Type A and B (Ground Plus 13 floor), as well as Types 4 and 5, are being built with lifts. In addition, a 400-person capacity administrative building (ground plus four floors), quarter guard, parking, sentry post, hospital, indoor gym, dog cannel, and restroom block will be constructed. Together with the salute stage, the grand parade ground will also be constructed.

Rainwater harvesting will be set up on the property in addition to all the infrastructure construction that is required. Along with Towers A and B, the construction project began on June 21, 2024, and it is expected to be finished by October 31, 2026. The construction of Towers “A” and “B” must be finished by March 30, 2027.

June 2021 saw the formation of UP SSF.

In September 2020, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath established the Uttar Pradesh Special Protection Force to safeguard courts, important places of worship, and other establishments. Following that, five UP SSF corps—Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Mathura, and Saharanpur—were established in June 2021. After then, the sixth corps was established to guard the Ayodhya-based Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex.

The security of the airports in Gorakhpur and Kushinagar is being handled by the second sSF corps for Gorakhpur. At the moment, the SSF’s second corps operates out of the PAC campus in Gorakhpur.

Road leading up to the SSF building

A two-kilometer approach road to the UP SSF II Vahini building is also being built by the Yogi government. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 23.73 crore. Construction Block 3, which was initiated by the Public Works Department on March 18, 2025, has made 30% of its physical progress. It is anticipated that the approach path will be finished in March 2026.
