Punjab launches Jiwanjot project to rescue children from begging, promote education, and protect child rights under CM Bhagwant Mann.

Punjab: The government of Punjab, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has launched a rescue effort to prevent children from begging, ‘ Jiwanjot project’. The goal is to make the state “child beggar-free.” To achieve this, Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur is working hard. To eradicate child begging in the state, the Mann government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has stepped up its efforts. They have also rescued two children who were begging in Faridkot. According to her, the District Child Welfare Committee is currently in charge of both kids.

Regarding the Mann Government’s “JIWANJOT” project

“With the combined efforts of the District Child Protection Units and CM Bhagwant Mann’s new project, children’s rights will be protected and significant changes will be made in their lives,” said Dr. Baljit Kaur, who praised the Mann Government’s new project, Jiwanjot. The Chief Minister’s main goal, she continued, is to ensure that no youngster is ever seen begging on Punjab’s streets.

The Jiwanjot project will also provide educational possibilities for children. Positive outcomes have started to emerge from this initiative, Dr. Baljit Kaur stressed. In the meantime, she denounced “child begging” as a societal ill, saying, “It is a violation of child rights,” and threatened to take strong action against those who make children beg.

Child Helpline Number Issued by the Punjab Government

Dr. Kaur also urged Punjabis to shield kids from this terrible cycle of begging. To end this societal evil, she offered a helpline number and asked people to report any such incidences to the Child Helpline number 1098.
