UP CM Yogi Adityanath meets World Cup-winning cricketer Deepti Sharma and announces simplified old age pension registration in Cabinet meeting.

According to an official, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with Deepti Sharma, a member of the state’s World Cup-winning women’s cricket team, on Friday. He also presided over a Cabinet meeting that made 20 important decisions, one of which was to simplify the old age pension registration process.

Chief Minister Adityanath commended Sharma, the state’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), for her winning Player of the Tournament award and her strong performance in the World Cricket final.

“Deepti has done the Uttar Pradesh Police proud at the world stage,” CM Adityanath tweeted shortly after the women’s cricket team won the World Cup on November 2.

Under the sports quota and as part of Chief Minister Adityanath’s Skilled Athlete Scheme, cricketer Deepti Sharma was previously named DSP in January of this year.

At Friday’s Cabinet meeting at the chief minister’s residence, CM Adityanath led his ministers in congratulating the women’s cricket team on their World Cup victory.

Additionally, the Cabinet denounced the November 10 blast in Delhi that claimed lives.

Saving the elderly the burden of chasing down pensions is one of the meeting’s major decisions.

The social welfare department would use call center executives to contact beneficiaries, obtain their agreement, and have them fill out online forms through common service centers, according to a decision made by the Cabinet.

Before their pension is released, the forms will be validated with family IDs, freeing the elderly from having to rush around to finish requirements.

According to an official, the plan will be tested as a pilot project in five districts: Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Kannauj, and Lalitpur.

Before being approved by the District Magistrate-led Committee, an online application submitted by an aged person seeking a pension must be verified by the local Block Development Officer and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate under the current system.

The new system that is being suggested will expedite the entire procedure, according to an official.

The program will help all older people over 60 who earn at least Rs 56,460 per year in cities and Rs 46,080 per year in rural areas.

Additionally, the Cabinet authorized a plan to lend cars to court service staff.

The Cabinet also approved a private university in Shahjahanpur and revised the favorable rate for the purchase of cane.
