Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini launches 72nd Cooperative Week, promoting farmer welfare, digital cooperatives, and new warehouse & loan schemes.

State-Level 72nd Cooperative Week was officially opened in Sonipat on Friday by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Speaking to the assembly, he claimed that collaboration is the way forward and that India’s villages hold the country’s spirit. According to him, the celebration of this year as the Year of Cooperatives will be crucial to realizing the goal of prosperity by self-reliance and collaboration. Through the potential of Digital India, the Chief Minister encouraged the youth to abandon old attitudes, establish cooperatives, and turn them into international businesses.

According to the Chief Minister, we must never forget the millions of people who created a strong cooperative movement with their modest savings and combined might. India’s economy is currently the fourth largest in the world, although it is quickly approaching the third. He asserted that cooperatives are essential to accomplishing this objective. He reminded that in 2014, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi formed a Ministry of Cooperation for the first time in history and promised to fortify the cooperative sector. The state government has made the decision to make cooperatives a widespread movement in keeping with the Prime Minister’s goal.

Haryana is making steady progress in the cooperative sector, according to Saini. Through 19 District Central Cooperative Banks, almost 3,000,000 farmers around the state have received RuPay Kisan Credit Cards. Furthermore, 21 PACS centers have been chosen to have warehouses built. According to him, primary cooperative society members who make timely repayments on their crop loans are exempt from interest charges. 531,652 farmers have received interest relief totaling Rs 1,223 crore under this initiative thus far. Under the Central Government’s giant Food Park Scheme, HAFED is constructing a giant food park in Rohtak at an estimated cost of Rs 180 crore. In the meantime, the ten cooperative sugar mills owned by Sugarfed are running at almost 93% capacity.

Actions Taken to Make Cooperative Societies Stronger

According to Saini, ongoing initiatives are being made to improve cooperative organizations. Of the 710 PACS being computerized, 475 have already been transformed into e-PACS in an effort to modernize the system and increase transparency and competition in the cooperative sector. PACS model bylaws have also been created. He went on to say that the largest grain storage program in the world has been started, and cooperative societies are building sizable warehouses in each block in the nation. Connecting these cooperative institutions with Farmer Producer Organizations is also giving them fresh life. The Chief Minister asked everyone to promise to live their lives with a spirit of cooperation. “To make Haryana the most prosperous, content, and cooperative state in the nation, we will collaborate and help one another,” he stated.

Prior to inspecting the many stalls positioned close to the site, the Chief Minister raised the cooperation flag to kick off the event.

During the ceremony, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma congratulated the Chief Minister on the BJP’s victory in the Bihar elections. Halfway through the gathering, the Minister gave the Chief Minister and other guests Gohana jalebi, which he had prepared to commemorate the occasion.
