CM Nayab Singh Saini urges integrated urban growth and smart mobility at the Urban Mobility India Conference 2025 in Gurugram, aligning with Vision 2047.

The Urban Development and Mobility Program develops an integrated strategy for urban growth, according to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. An integrated plan like this aids in the development of strong cities, which strengthen the country as a whole. These kinds of conferences are essential to putting new ideas for improved urban facilities into practice and to furthering the country’s Vision 2047 of becoming a developed nation. The 18th Urban Mobility India Conference was place in Gurugram, and the Chief Minister was speaking to delegates from several states. He also went to the developing exhibition that included projects related to mobility and urban development.

It is a source of pride and honor that Haryana has been given the chance to host this national conference for the first time, the Chief Minister remarked as he welcomed representatives from all around the nation. He thanked Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Sh. Manohar Lal and Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi for their capable leadership and assistance in arranging this three-day event. He stated that the Prime Minister firmly believes that India’s future no longer lies just in major cities. In keeping with contemporary demands, tier-2 and tier-3 cities are also developing swiftly. In order to accommodate inclusive development in these cities, mobility alternatives are being modified.

He noted that sustainable transportation and transit-oriented development are being prioritized in urban planning. Rapid efforts are being made by the federal and state governments to establish transit-oriented development as the mainstay of urban planning. To help manage unplanned urbanization and guarantee the best possible use of resources, the government is integrating transportation systems.

According to Saini, we are at a pivotal juncture in the twenty-first century, where our transportation systems dictate the rate and course of urban growth. This year’s subject, the fusion of urban growth and mobility, has been selected in recognition of this fact. India’s economy is among the fastest-growing in the world, he claimed. Although our cities are the main drivers of growth, mobility must be at the center of every development in order to guarantee that people can live comfortably there.

He went on to say that mobility is the cornerstone of economic power, environmental preservation, and citizen empowerment and goes beyond simply relocating.

According to the Chief Minister, the Urban Mobility India platform is an effective venue for talking about problems and suggesting fixes. The major purpose of this conference, he stated, is to familiarize cities with the greatest urban transit options. It offers a forum for important policymakers to discuss issues with other representatives. The goal of this discussion is for participants to leave with concepts that will enable them to create sustainable urban transportation networks in their own cities.

“Plans are underway to implement smart bus services to make transport systems more eco-friendly, efficient, reliable, transparent, and accountable in order to address the specific mobility needs of cities,” he added. According to him, city buses are the foundation of economic growth since improved connectivity encourages company expansion, boosts job prospects, and quickens economic activity.
