AAP Punjab chief Aman Arora condemns Chandigarh Police lathi charge on Punjab University students, farmers, and journalists, calling it a blow to democracy.

President of the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) Punjab and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today strongly denounced the Chandigarh Police lathi charge against students who were demonstrating for Punjab University’s rights, farmers’ union officials who were assisting them, and reporters who had come to the scene to cover the event. He called the BJP-led Central Government’s disgraceful and intentional attempt to silence the democratic voice was demonstrated by this police action.

“Today is a very unfortunate day for democracy,” stated Aman Arora. Punjab University is the pride of Punjab and the country as a whole, he remarked. He called the use of force by the Chandigarh Police against farmers who had come to support the university and students peacefully protesting to defend its rights incredibly cruel and unacceptable.

Arora claimed that the Central Government, which is run by the BJP, ordered all of this to occur. He claimed that in addition to using batons on the demonstrators, the police also used tear gas shells and water cannons, gravely injuring numerous journalists and students. He claimed that attacking reporters who were attempting to inform the public about the truth and the voices of the people was a reflection of the BJP government’s annoyance.

According to the president of the AAP, the BJP government is already committed to destroying the nation’s main institutions, and anyone who speaks out against it is silenced with batons. He claimed that three crore Punjabis, the Punjab Government, and the Aam Aadmi Party all vehemently denounce the Central Government’s autocratic activities and issue a warning that Punjabis will never put up with such oppressive practices.
