Haryana Health Minister Arti Rao approves rate contracts worth crores for hospitals, including life-saving drugs, defibrillators, X-ray machines, and endoscopy systems.

In a recent meeting, the Special High-Powered Purchase Committee (SHPPC), chaired by Health Minister Ms. Arti Rao, authorized a number of important rate contracts that would improve healthcare facilities and services throughout the State of Haryana.

According to Health Minister Arti Rao, the Committee has finalized rate contracts for 87 bi-phasic defibrillators for all civil hospitals, totaling Rs. 4.64 crore; 40 mobile 150 mA x-ray machines, totaling Rs. 1.01 crore; 11 video bronchoscopes, totaling Rs. 4 crore; and advanced GI video endoscopy systems, totaling Rs. 7.19 crore.

She added that it also authorized the choice of a service provider for the management and operation of 30 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (UAAMs) in the Gurugram District at a cost of Rs. 26.20 crore, 9 Automatic Slide Stainers for Histopathology Departments worth Rs. 1.60 crore, 4 Mobile Dental Vans worth Rs. 2.20 crore, 70 ABG Benchtop Machines for Laboratory Departments worth Rs. 1.47 crore, 15 High-End Operating Microscopes (Eye) for Ophthalmology Departments worth Rs. 3.94 crore, and 40 Truenat machines for tuberculosis patient testing totaling Rs. 6 crore.”

In addition to purchasing equipment, the Health Minister stated that the SHPPC authorized the finalization of 44 life-saving and vital medications, totaling around Rs. 60 crore, under the two-year Rate Contract. Antibiotics, antihypertensives, insulin preparations, emergency medications, and other crucial formulations that serve as the foundation of patient care in government healthcare facilities are also included in the approved list.

From primary health centers to district and tertiary hospitals, she said, these approvals would guarantee the prompt availability of quality-assured medications at every level of the public health system. By obtaining Rate Contracts for both essential medications and contemporary equipment, the Haryana government has reiterated its dedication to offering its residents continuous, reasonably priced, and superior healthcare services.

In order to support important national and state health initiatives and improve patient care delivery, the authorized items will soon be delivered to government hospitals around the state.
