Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann distributes 2,105 PSPCL jobs, totaling 58,962 govt positions for youth, promoting merit-based hiring and social welfare.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann gave appointment letters to 2,105 young persons hired by the Punjab State Power Corporation as part of the ongoing effort to give young people jobs. Thus far, 58,962 government positions have been awarded to young people.

The Chief Minister stated during a ceremony held in the Government Medical College auditorium in Amritsar that the state government is working to eradicate unemployment since it is the cause of many social issues. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, a record of approximately 58,962 government employment have been given to young people in the three and a half years since he took office. According to him, PSPCL and PSTCL have appointed 2,023 lineman, 48 internal auditors, and 35 revenue accountants .

According to the Chief Minister, 8,984 appointments have been made to these two businesses since April 2022. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is placing a strong priority on providing youth with work possibilities, therefore this program will continue. He took delight in the fact that all of these appointees were chosen purely on the basis of merit.

According to the Chief Minister, we have totally eradicated the habit of young people obtaining jobs through “cash and favor” under past administrations. He added that no appointment has ever been contested in court and that government positions can be acquired only on the basis of merit, without any recommendations. Our opponents are now making unfounded accusations against the state administration as a result of this, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister cited Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as an example, saying that this great national icon overcame immense adversity to achieve greatness and that young people should be inspired by him to succeed in all that they do. He claimed that in spite of obstacles, the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution received an education and achieved great success in life. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, in order to succeed, every young person should take lessons from his life and beliefs.

According to the Chief Minister, these recently hired young people should serve the public with missionary fervor since they are now an essential component of the administration. He wished that they would utilize their writing to aid the downtrodden and destitute. In order for every segment of society to prosper, Bhagwant Singh Mann advised them to help the public as much as they can.

According to the Chief Minister, the state government would assist young people in realizing their aspirations, likening it to a runway that facilitates an airplane’s takeoff. He promised to do everything in his power to assist them in achieving their goals. Bhagwant Singh Mann made an emotive plea to young people to fight for their own acceptance and position in society.

According to the chief minister, “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop,” which is why the state government aims to give young people as many jobs as possible to keep them away from social ills. In order for the state government to eradicate this threat, he urged all young people to participate in initiatives like the war on drugs. When his government took office, Powercom was drowning in debt, but they managed to pay off Rs 2,000 crore of that debt, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann, who was speaking about reforms in the power sector.

According to the Chief Minister, 90% of households have been receiving 600 units of free power since July 2022, which has helped the financial situation of people. In order to guarantee a consistent coal supply, he added, the government also reopened the Pachhwara coal mine, turning Punjab into a coal surplus state.
Bhagwant Singh Mann added that the GVK thermal plant in Goindwal Sahib was renamed in honor of Sri Guru Amar Das Ji, the third Sikh Guru, after the government paid Rs 1,080 crore to acquire it.

According to the Chief Minister, prior administrations sold public assets to their preferred candidates for pennies, but this is the first time in Punjab’s history that a state government has purchased private property. He accused previous governments of causing Punjab’s debt to skyrocket, claiming that although they inherited a debt of Rs 2.75 lakh crore, regrettably, none of the borrowed funds aided in the province’s development. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, his government is investing every dollar in the welfare and advancement of the state.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that because he shares a common background, established political parties are envious of him. He claimed that these leaders are unable to comprehend that a common guy is managing the state so successfully and that the people have rejected them because they have deceived them and denied them access to necessities since independence. These leaders, who attended boarding schools in the highlands, are ignorant of the reality on the ground in Punjab, said Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister accused the central government, led by the BJP, of purposefully targeting Punjab by meddling in its affairs. He claimed that dissolving Punjab University’s Senate and Syndicate was an outright assault on the state’s illustrious history. Three generations of Punjabis have attended Punjab University, which is more than just an academic institution—it is an integral element of Punjabi identity. Bhagwant Singh Mann pointed out that his government had fiercely opposed previous attempts by the Center to coerce Punjab into combining Haryana colleges with Punjab University.

The Chief Minister added that “we will never bow to such pressure” notwithstanding the Center’s continued unfair pressure on Punjab to deliver more water from the Bhakra Dam to Haryana and Rajasthan.
“The central government must stop bullying Punjab,” he said. Punjab is capable of defending and asserting its rights.
Many of the recently appointed youth, meantime, showed their sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister during the event. Other dignitaries in attendance included Basant Garg, the chairman and managing director of the Punjab State Power Corporation.
