Delhi commuters face long waits after cluster buses were removed. Saurabh Bharadwaj criticizes BJP govt for overcrowded DTC buses and poor service.

Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the BJP-led Delhi administration was putting the city’s public transportation system in crisis after visiting various bus stations where people were waiting for hours. He said that things have gotten worse since the government stopped running cluster buses in April.

Saurabh Bharadwaj saw huge lines of people at Mandi House saying that buses now only come once an hour, whereas they used to come more often. “When cluster buses were running, people seldom had to wait long. He remarked, “The BJP government’s choice to get rid of them has left people in Delhi stuck.” People who use the bus told him that the routes that connect East Delhi, such as 139, 164, 167, 188, 260, and 270, have experienced the worst drop, with some buses not running at all.

Saurabh Bharadwaj also said that DTC buses weren’t being taken care of well and that drivers were treating women passengers negatively. He claimed that the severe shortages are on routes from Khanpur and Ambedkar Nagar to Mori Gate and Old Delhi. Buses going to Anand Vihar and Laxmi Nagar are also quite full. Later, when he checked the Chirag Delhi bus stop, he saw that people were waiting more than 40 minutes for buses like 534 and 419.
