Punjab Police conduct 295 raids under CM Bhagwant Mann ‘s drug war, arrest 63 smugglers, seize narcotics, and support de-addiction efforts.

The Punjab Police raided 295 places on Monday as part of CM Bhagwant Mann ‘s ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” war against drugs to get rid of the drug problem in the state. They arrested 63 drug smugglers after filing 60 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. In 247 days, a total of 35,065 narcotics smugglers had been caught.

The raids led to the seizure of 332 grams of heroin and 5623 tablets that make people high from the drug smugglers’ homes.

Under the direction of 55 gazetted officers, more than 800 police officers have carried out 295 raids around the state. During the day-long operation, police officers also checked on as many as 289 people who seemed suspicious.

The state government has put in place a three-pronged plan called Enforcement, Deaddiction, and Prevention (EDP) to get rid of narcotics in the state. As part of “De-addiction,” the Punjab Police have convinced 15 people to get treatment for their addiction and rehabilitation today.
