Punjab achieves historic 104 LMT paddy lifting; farmers credited over ₹27,000 Cr. Mann govt ensures smooth procurement and record mandi operations.

Punjab : The paddy lifting at the mandis has reached a historic milestone, with more than 104 Lakh Metric Tonnes (LMT) hoisted.

Lal Chand Kataruchak, the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister, said that the faster pace of procurement and lifting shows that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is friendly to farmers. He also said that everything is in place in the mandis to make sure that no one, including farmers, Commission Agents (Arhtiyas), or laborers, has any problems. In terms of arrival, more than 127 LMT of paddy has made it to the mandis. This includes 124 LMT that has been bought.

The Minister added that the farmers’ accounts have been credited with more than Rs. 27000 Crore. He urged farmers to bring their dry crops to the mandis so they can get the full value of the crops they worked so hard to grow.
