Haryana CM Nayab Saini urges citizens to protect cows, promotes Gaushala welfare, and announces ₹21 lakh grant at Gopashtami event.

CM Nayab Saini urged people not to leave cows on the roadways and stated that “cow devotees” should spearhead a public awareness campaign to safeguard cows and that it is everyone’s moral obligation to serve them.

He encouraged the public to consume items derived from cow pee and dung and to actively participate in attempts to make gaushalas (cow shelters) self-sufficient.

Saini was the main speaker at Thursday’s Gopashtami event, which was hosted at Shri Krishna Gaushala.

He also declared that he would provide the Gaushala ₹21 lakh from his discretionary fund.

He had previously visited the Gaushala’s medical facilities for the cattle and performed “gau pooja.”

According to Saini, a person’s wealth was once determined by how many cows they had, and the cow has both social and spiritual significance. It has also long been linked to success and wealth.

The chief minister claimed that cow’s milk is thought to be as nutritious as mother’s milk and that scientific research has shown that the milk of indigenous (Desi) cows is really good for your health.

According to Saini, a number of measures have been implemented by the government to support natural farming, safeguard livestock, and develop Gaushalas.

Only ₹2 crore was given to the Gau Seva Aayog eleven years ago, but since the BJP took office, the amount has been steadily rising. For the conservation and promotion of cows, the government has now set aside ₹600 crore. 686 gaushalas with more than 4 lakh cattle currently exist in the state, compared to 215 registered gaushalas with 1.75 lakh animals in 2014. Eight hundred e-rickshaws are being purchased for Gaushalas. In addition, the government has eliminated stamp duty on Gaushala land registration and is offering energy to the community at ₹2 per unit,” he said.

He also mentioned that 605 Gaushalas had received a fodder subsidy of ₹88.50 crore. Over the past eleven years, around ₹388 crore has been given to registered Gaushalas as fodder aid.

Strict regulations have been put in place to protect cows, he said. Ten years in jail are stipulated for the killing of cows and seven years for the smuggling of cows.

When Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj discussed the significance of Gopashtami earlier, he claimed that the cow is not just any animal but rather the center of Sanatan customs.

BJP district president Parveen Lather, Gau Sewa Aayog chairperson Shravan Kumar Garg, Gaushala president Sunil Gupta, Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, Assandh MLA Yogender Rana, Bhanpura Peeth Shankaracharya Premmurti Maharaj, chief whip and Indri MLA from Ram Kumar Kashyap, and Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand were among those in attendance.
