Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini orders stricter anti-drug enforcement, rewards top performers, and engages panchayats in Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.

Chandigarh: CM Nayab Singh Saini gave orders to bolster the anti-drug misuse campaign, promising to honor and recognize police officers and workers in regions where excellent work is being done.

According to the Chief Minister, any instances of carelessness or laxity will result in severe consequences. Action taken against careless officials should have a clear impact and send a strong message that individuals who do excellent work against drug misuse will be recognized, while places where drug abuse continues will face tough sanctions.

A meeting to evaluate the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan project was being chaired by Chief Minister Saini. He gave the order to increase the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau’s presence in border regions and to periodically reevaluate communities that had been proclaimed drug-free. In order to guarantee efficient supervision over the drug supply, he also directed that specialists be incorporated into the teams.

With equal emphasis on enforcement, de-addiction, and awareness, the Chief Minister urged all relevant departments to step up their collaborative anti-drug campaign and to aggressively include panchayats as partners.

According to CM Saini, a comprehensive campaign should be launched by the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau in collaboration with other pertinent authorities to guarantee the comprehensive screening of young people impacted by drug addiction. In order to completely disrupt and control the drug supply chain, he asked for thorough investigations to determine the sources and channels via which drugs are being supplied.

According to him, the goal is to reintegrate impacted adolescents into society at large as well as to avoid drug abuse. According to him, the Health Department, SEWA Department, and Narcotics Control Bureau should work together to step up efforts to stop drug misuse at its source.
