Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrests Civil Hospital guard Jatinder Singh in Amritsar for taking a ₹15,000 bribe to issue a fake dope test certificate.
Jatinder Singh, a security guard assigned to the Civil Hospital Baba Bakala Sahib in the Amritsar district, was apprehended by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) , as he was taking a Rs 15,000 bribe.
According to a state VB official spokesperson who made the announcement here today, the culprit was taken into custody after Resham Singh filed a complaint. In order to facilitate the issuing of a negative dope test certificate for a weapons license, the complainant allegedly asked a bribe of Rs 15,000 from the VB.
He said that following a preliminary investigation of the allegation, a VB Flying Squad team set up a trap, leading to the arrest of the aforementioned accused as he accepted a bribe of Rs 15,000 from the complainant in front of two official witnesses.
In this respect, a case against the aforementioned accused has been filed at the VB Flying Squad, Mohali police station, under Section 7-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The official further stated that the arrested culprit is presently being questioned. According to disclosures made during questioning, the method of operation and the participation of other accused in the crime are being investigated.

The accused would appear before the appropriate court. He stated that the case is currently being investigated further.
