UP CM Yogi Adityanath announces mini fire stations every 100 km on expressways and upgrades to fire services for faster emergency and disaster response.
New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has said that in order to guarantee prompt action in the event of an accident, miniature fire stations will be positioned every 100 kilometers along expressways. CM Yogi stated at a Fire Services Department review meeting on Thursday that the fire service shouldn’t be restricted to putting out flames. It must develop into an integrated unit for emergency services, rescue operations, and catastrophe management, he said.

Additionally, he oversaw the establishment of specialized units in each area to deal with crises and mishaps involving chemicals, biological agents, and radioactive materials in extremely tall structures. Officials were directed by the Chief Minister to provide the fire department with up-to-date equipment and skilled firefighters. He stated that in light of the swift expansion of industry, urbanization, and population, the department needs to become more robust, up-to-date, and cognizant of the demands of public safety.
Created new posts to increase productivity
The development of additional departmental roles was another topic of discussion at the meeting. To guarantee financial transparency and administrative effectiveness, CM Yogi directed the creation of a specialized accounting cadre in each district. To enhance training and research quality, he also authorized more positions at the State Fire Training College.
His directives will strengthen the department’s operational capabilities by creating 98 gazetted and roughly 922 non-gazetted positions.

Key airports already have fire units in place.
Airports at Kushinagar, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Kanpur Nagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra have already received new operational fire units, officials told the chief minister.
