Gold and Silver Prices Drop on October 22 After Record Highs During Diwali Demand

Gold and silver prices fell on Oct 22 after record highs. 24K gold at ₹1,27,200/10g, silver at ₹63,900/kg, as investors booked profits post-Diwali.

Rate of Gold and Silver On October 22, after hitting record highs the day before, investors booked gains, causing gold and silver prices to fall on Wednesday. This occurred even though demand for festive jewelry increased by 35–40% throughout India during Dhanteras.

Given that the yellow metal is anticipated to open on a lower note in the local market on Wednesday, the high demand for gold may subside following Diwali.

This pattern comes as global gold prices fell 5.5%, the most in a single day since August 2020.

The current price of gold is about Rs 1,27,200 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold and Rs 1,16,000 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold. Major cities have different rates because of demand variations, transportation expenses, and local taxes.

After profiting from gold’s recent surge, many investors have locked in gains due to the decline in world prices.

The price of silver, which was reported at Rs 63,900 per kilogram, also decreased.

After a sharp 7.1 percent decline the day before, silver dropped more than 2 percent globally to trade close to $47.6 an ounce.

Following a muted session on Wall Street, Asian stock markets showed mixed tendencies, while both gold and silver continued their decline from record highs.
