Dr. K. K. Khandelwal, Chief National Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, leads Asia-Pacific Strategic Transformation Committee focusing on digital innovation and youth empowerment.

Dr. K. K. Khandelwal (IAS-R), the Chief National Commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), has been named the Chair of the Strategic Transformation Committee for the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

Indian Scouting is proud to have Dr. Khandelwal lead a key committee that will be in charge of digital transformation, governance reform, youth empowerment, innovation, and sustainability across the Asia-Pacific region. This is the largest Scouting region in the world, with over 37 lakhs members in 33 countries.

Dr. Khandelwal added that this honor is for everyone of India’s Scouting family. It shows that the world trusts our country to help young people grow and learn about character. I give this duty to every Scout and Guide who keeps the spirit of service alive.

With more than 6.8 lakh young Scouts and Guides, the Bharat Scouts and Guides is still one of the largest and most active National Scout Organizations under WOSM. Since 2017, Dr. Khandelwal has become the Chief National Commissioner. He has more than 50 years of Scouting experience to add to his new global post. Under his leadership, Indian Scouting has grown in numbers, updated its methods, and gotten more young people involved at all levels.

The Strategic Transformation Committee will work on making institutions that are flexible, based on data, and open to everyone so that Scouting stays relevant to the needs of young people and society as a whole.
